I’m still kicking myself for missing Alicia Keys’ first concert in Malaysia. So since coming on board to the Mix.FM family, I was ecstatic to hear that we were the official radio station for her Set The World on Fire Tour in KL. She blessed us with her angelic and keyboard talents on the 27th of November at Stadium Putra. The place was filled with roughly about 6000 fans. The beginning had Rod and Sarimah from the MixBreakfast to greet the crowd and some quick giveaway. Show started about 9pm and she began the show at the center of the stage. Dressed in a sparkly sequin top that bared her back and toned abs, what looked like leather pants and hot red shoes. I like her short hairdo, but I still prefer her with the braids. It’s her signature!
The performance was outstanding. Not all performers can do a spectacular live show, but she was pitch perfect at all times. Just watching her on the grand white piano had me in goosebumps, especially when she gave a mini solo performance. She sang about 15 songs, was bummed out that I missed A Woman’s Worth cause I went out to do updates on instagram >.<
My favourite part of the night with audience interaction had to be when she asked the crowd to put their cellphones in the air. Ohh it’s a beautiful sight when you see cellphones lighting up the arena like stars.
She ended her last set with a wardrobe change into a glittery black dress and finished off with Empire State of Mind.
Managed to also talk with some of her fans and that of MixFM 🙂
