Adidas DRose Tour 3X3

Adidas DRose Tour 3X3

Basketball has always been one of the sports I love. Since becoming a part of the Asean Basketball League by working closely with the KL Dragons as a courtside reporter, my love for the game has rekindled and grown. So when I heard that Derrick Rose was coming down to our region I was ecstatic..but sadly he’s going to be at Manilla. While I may whine that I’m not getting that chance to meet the youngest MVP player ever in Chicago Bulls, a bunch of players from our land will be flying to the Phillippines to meet the man himself and even get some tips in their game play.

Last Saturday I had the joy to host the Adidas DRose Tour 3×3 Basketball Challenge that was held at the Curve. Big thanks of to Adidas for gearing me up with my wicked DRose 2.5 and the awesome bright neon pink pants. The pants are the bomb, you can spot me a mile away! Not to mention the top which I found really soft and comfortable. Ok sorry ranting about the clothes, but have a lookie below.

The Basketball Challenge started early in the morning about 7am and 32 teams fought it out to the top 4. Which were teams Jaeger (Winner), Sri KL,

I am very glad brands like Adidas is creating this opportunity for teens to meet their idol in basketball. JJ, one of the winners mentioned during my interview with him – an opportunity like this doesn’t come everyday and they are very grateful that something like this about a sport which is still growing in popularity.

The winning team of the 3on3 basketball challenge along with the winners of an adidas retail promotion will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Derrick through a multitude of premium and exclusive events with All-Access VIP passes to the D Rose Tour activities in Manila.

“We worked very hard for this! We can’t wait to represent Malaysia in Manila. We will continue training hard over the next month before the finals”, said Captain Ng Jing Jiek of team Jaegar.

“This is a very exciting time for us in basketball here at adidas. We hope this opportunity will help support and inspire our youths to excel in all that they do and drive a positive message for all that dreams do come true. It is truly inspiring to have such a huge basketball icon coming to South East Asia” said Bryan Gee, Brand Manager of adidas Malaysia.
